Chris Serritella hit two home runs, but it wasn't enough to carry the Joliet Slammers (0-2) to a win on Friday, as the Joliet Slammers fell to the Florence Freedom (2-0) 6-5 at UC Health Stadium.

Cody Bishop had three extra-base hits for the Florence Freedom. He homered in the second inning and doubled in the third and fifth innings.

Casey Henn recorded his first win of the year for the Florence Freedom. He allowed three runs over five innings. Henn struck out three, walked one and gave up eight hits.

Jordan Guth (0-1) took the loss for the Joliet Slammers. He allowed six runs in four innings, walked two and struck out three.

The Florence Freedom were sparked by Bishop and Jake Luce, who teamed up for five hits and two RBIs.
