The Hannibal Cavemen (14-37) had a tough outing on Saturday, as the Quincy Gems (24-29) dominated in a 9-2 win at Clemens Field.

A three-run double by Justin Wylie delivered the runs in the seventh. The Quincy Gems had two hits in the inning.

Wylie racked up five RBIs on two hits for the Quincy Gems.

Lane Hanzel got the win for the Quincy Gems thanks to seven strikeouts. Hanzel allowed two earned runs, seven hits and two walks over 6 2/3 innings.

Shane Cooper reached base three times. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the seventh inning.

Sam Cottingham-Beard ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fifth loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked three, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
