An ace performance by Matt Gordon spurred the Butler BlueSox (26-23) to a 3-1 win over the Jamestown Jammers on Sunday at Diethrick Park.
Gordon picked up the win for the Butler BlueSox. Gordon allowed no earned runs, three hits and no walks while striking out three over eight innings of work.
The Jamestown Jammers (24-25) jumped out to an early lead, but they were unable to hang on. The Jamestown Jammers led until the ninth inning, but the Butler BlueSox took the lead back on a two-run single by Jared Grove.
Grove racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Butler BlueSox. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the ninth innings.
Matt Minnick was effective even in defeat, mowing down five the Butler BlueSox batters and allowing zero runs.
Paxton De La Garza (0-1) took the loss for the Jamestown Jammers. He lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
