The Terre Haute Rex (35-11) beat the Richmond RiverRats (15-30) 8-1 on Friday at McBride Stadium after a five-run explosion in the third inning.

The Terre Haute Rex scored in the third on an RBI single by Luis Salas, , a hit by pitch, an RBI single by Ty Hogan, and a sacrifice fly by Quinten Sefcik.

Salas racked up two RBIs on four hits for the Terre Haute Rex.

Jordan Tackett improved to 4-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Terre Haute Rex. He allowed one run over three innings. Tackett struck out one, walked none and gave up three hits.

Mitchell Lawson (0-3) took the loss for the Richmond RiverRats. He allowed six runs in 2 1/3 innings, walked four and struck out one.
