A superb effort by Trent Armstrong carried the Champion City Kings (19-26) to a 2-0 win over the Danville Dans (26-22) on Friday at Danville Stadium.

Armstrong's 14 strikeouts helped the Champion City Kings to the victory. The Champion City Kings' pitcher tossed nine innings of shutout ball and allowed only three hits.

A bright spot for the Danville Dans in the defeat was Connor Grant, who allowed only one run while striking out eight.

Grant (2-1) took the loss for the Danville Dans.
