The Springfield Sliders (23-22) beat the Champion City Kings (18-26) 3-2 on Thursday at Robin Roberts Field behind Dylan Rosa, who collected three hits.
He singled in the second and third innings and homered in the eighth inning.The Champion City Kings had no answer for Tanner Lupton, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Lupton gave up just two hits, allowed two earned runs, walked five and struck out four during his six innings of work.
Jose Hernandez recorded his second win of the year for the Springfield Sliders. Hernandez struck out one, walked none and gave up no hits.
Luke Dietz was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed one run.
