Sixth-inning rally sparks blowout win for the Richmond RiverRats, 9-2

The Richmond RiverRats (11-18) beat the Butler BlueSox 9-2 in seven innings on Wednesday at Kelly Auto Park after a six-run explosion in the sixth inning.

The Richmond RiverRats scored in the sixth on an RBI single by Anthony Justiniano, an RBI single by Kenny Hostrander, a sacrifice fly by Nick Moore, an RBI single by Aiden McMahan, an RBI single by McMahan, and an RBI single by Cody Begovich.

Begovich racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Richmond RiverRats.

The Butler BlueSox (14-15) couldn't get anything going so long as Cory Craig was on the hill. The Butler BlueSox managed just three hits off of Craig, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out four during his four innings of work.

David Marcus racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Butler BlueSox. He homered in the fifth inning.

Jon Anderson ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked five, struck out four, and allowed three runs.
