Jalen Washington collected three hits, sparking the Jamestown Jammers (14-7) to a 6-1 victory over the Butler BlueSox (8-12) on Saturday at Kelly Auto Park.
He singled in the first, fourth, and seventh innings.Matt Shannon brought the heat against the Butler BlueSox during his outing. The Butler BlueSox managed just one hit off of Shannon, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his 2 1/3 innings of work.
AJ Monarrez improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Jamestown Jammers. He allowed one run over 5 2/3 innings. Monarrez struck out three, walked four and gave up six hits.
Josh LaPiana couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Butler BlueSox, taking a loss. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out 10, and allowed three runs.
