The Chillicothe Paints (4-6) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 4-3 to the West Virginia Miners (7-3) on Saturday.

The West Virginia Miners took the lead in the ninth inning on a two-run single by Dom Iero.

Zach Sterry paced the West Virginia Miners at the plate. Sterry went 3-4. He singled in the second and fourth innings and doubled in the sixth inning.

Cody Artalejo pitched seven innings and allowed no earned runs, six hits and one walk while striking out four.

Derek Hug was solid at the plate for the Chillicothe Paints. Hug went 3-4 and scored one run. He doubled in the sixth inning and singled in the first and ninth innings.

Calvin Coker got the win, running his season record to 1-0. Coker struck out one, walked none and gave up one hit.

Derek Hendrixson (0-2) took the loss for the Chillicothe Paints. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
