Extra-inning thriller favors the West Virginia Miners, 7-3 winners over the Butler BlueSox

The West Virginia Miners (4-3) needed 10 innings on Wednesday to take down the Butler BlueSox (3-4) 7-3 at Kelly Auto Park.

With the score tied at three, Zach Sterry came to the plate and doubled, scoring Justin Paul, Hunter Vansau and Dylan Harvey.

Sterry racked up four RBIs on two hits for the West Virginia Miners. He doubled in the eighth and tenth innings.

James Doubet pitched lights out for the West Virginia Miners. Doubet held the Butler BlueSox hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Michael Patrick had a hot bat for the Butler BlueSox. Patrick went 2-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the first and third innings.

Kyle Rago (0-1) took the loss for the Butler BlueSox. He lasted just three innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
