The West Virginia Miners (3-2) beat the Richmond RiverRats (1-4) 6-2 on Sunday at Linda K. Epling Stadium behind Dylan Harvey, who went 3-3 at the plate.

The Richmond RiverRats had no answer for Connor Faix, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Richmond RiverRats managed just one hit off of Faix, who allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out two during his three innings of work.

Cody Begovich reached base three times in the game for the Richmond RiverRats. He also drove in one runner. He singled in the second inning and doubled in the fourth inning.

Austin Simms improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the West Virginia Miners. He allowed two runs over five innings. Simms struck out six, walked two and gave up five hits.

Cory Craig (0-1) took the loss for the Richmond RiverRats. He lasted just six innings, walked none, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
