The British Columbia drop the Vaughan 7-3 behind Brown's early double

Three first-inning runs helped the British Columbia (4-3) to a 7-3 win over the Vaughan (4-2) at BBoys Vaughan Grove one on Sunday.

The British Columbia scored in the first on an RBI double by Austin Brown, a groundout by Sami Shoemaker, and an RBI single by Wesley Moore.

Brown had three extra-base hits for the British Columbia.

Shoemaker racked up eight strikeouts in the the British Columbia win. Shoemaker allowed two earned runs, three hits and one walk over six innings.

Despite the loss, the Vaughan's Ryan Kula dominated the British Columbia's batters, giving up zero runs and striking out six.

Danny Mahoney (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed seven runs in four innings, walked one and struck out five.
