Early lead gives the Ontario easy victory over the New Brunswick, 11-1

Story by Narrative Science.

The Ontario (5-1) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the New Brunswick (4-2), recording an 11-1 victory on Monday at Mainland Commons.

Seven runs in the first three innings allowed the Ontario to put the game away early.

An RBI single by Bruce Yari, an RBI double by Matt Deneau, and a two-run double by Andrew Wasyluk in the first inning and a sacrifice fly by Keifer Quick and an RBI double by Deneau during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Ontario.

Deneau racked up four RBIs on four hits for the Ontario.

Bob St. Pierre got the win for the Ontario thanks to nine strikeouts. St. Pierre allowed one earned run, two hits and five walks over six innings.

Shawn Reid was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
