Brendan Hendriks had two extra base hits as the Cotuit Kettleers (1-1) took home a 10-7 victory over the Bourne Braves (1-1) at Lowell Park on Friday.
He singled in the second inning, doubled in the fifth inning, and homered in the seventh inning.Richard Martin Jr paced the Bourne Braves at the plate. Martin Jr went 2-5, drove in one and scored two runs. He homered in the first inning and singled in the fifth inning.
Austin Sexton improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Cotuit Kettleers. Sexton struck out none, walked none and gave up no hits.
Dylan Nelson ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked two, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
The Cotuit Kettleers' Jordan Ebert, Logan Taylor, Kyle Holder and Hendriks combined for nine hits and five RBIs.
