The Carolina Vipers (14-28) didn't put up much of a fight on Sunday, as the Ballantyne Smokies (27-14) cruised to a blowout 11-4 win at Ardrey Kell HS.

The Ballantyne Smokies scored three runs in the eighth on the Ballantyne Smokies scored in the eighth on an RBI single by Mitch Stoltzfus, a fielder's choice, and a sacrifice fly by Dan Stoltzfus.

Sammy Taormina racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Ballantyne Smokies. He homered in the first inning and singled in the eighth inning.

Ed Speakman had a hot bat for the Carolina Vipers. Speakman went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fourth inning and singled in the eighth inning.

Brandon Donahue recorded his fourth win of the year for the Ballantyne Smokies. He allowed three runs over six innings. He struck out two, walked one and surrendered seven hits.

Jorge Montes was charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed six runs in three innings, walked five and struck out one.
