Carlos Garmendia was strong at the plate and on the mound in carrying the Florida Barons (9-14) to a 8-7 victory over the Florida Pokers on Sunday at Taravella HS.

Garmendia racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Florida Barons. He singled in the first inning and homered in the fifth inning.

Garmendia brought the heat against the Florida Pokers (7-17) during his outing. The Florida Pokers managed just three hits off of Garmendia, who allowed one earned run, walked none and struck out five during his 3 2/3 innings of work.

Fenway Parks racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Florida Pokers. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the sixth inning.

Eric Simone couldn't get it done on the bump for the Florida Pokers, taking a loss. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
