A seven-run explosion in the sixth inning spurred the Boca Raton Lightning (14-12) to a 9-3 win over the Palm Beach Xtreme (11-18) on Monday.

The Boca Raton Lightning scored in the sixth on an RBI single by Erik Bauer, , a two-run double by Kadeem Octave, a sacrifice fly by Blake Bonnin, a two-run single by Bobby Brennan, and a single by Brennan.

Jason Hanson got a hit in each of his three at bats. He singled in the second inning and doubled in the fourth inning.

The Palm Beach Xtreme had no answer for Austin Edwards, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Edwards held the Palm Beach Xtreme hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Jordan Jackson got on base three times in the game for the Palm Beach Xtreme. He singled in the sixth and eighth innings.

Kyle Bender improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Boca Raton Lightning. He allowed three runs over five innings. He struck out seven, walked three and surrendered four hits.

Jose Parra couldn't get it done on the mound for the Palm Beach Xtreme, taking a loss. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed one run.
