The Ontario (3-1) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Alberta (1-3), recording a 15-5 victory on Saturday at BBoys Vaughan Grove one.
Eight runs in the first three innings allowed the Ontario to put the game away early.
An RBI single by Ben Ciprovski, an RBI single by Mitch Osborne, an RBI single by Thomas Grilli, an RBI double by Zack Panek, and a sacrifice fly by Evan Chenier in the first inning helped the Ontario put some runs on the board early.The Ontario scored six runs in the first inning to build an early lead.
Mackenzie Strong put together a nice outing. Strong held the Alberta hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.
Robbie Holmes went a perfect 3-3 at the plate for the Alberta. He singled in the second and third innings and doubled in the fifth inning.
Chenier got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed three runs over three innings. Chenier struck out none, walked none and gave up seven hits.
Graham Brunner was charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed 10 runs in four innings, walked one and struck out five.
Osborne, Grilli and Panek helped lead the Ontario. They combined for five hits and six RBIs.
