The New Brunswick (4-1) beat the Newfoundland Labrador 12-0 Saturday behind both the bat and the arm of Zack Newman.
Newman went a perfect 4-4 at the plate for the New Brunswick. He singled in the first, third, and fifth innings and doubled in the sixth inning.
The Newfoundland Labrador (0-5) had no answer for Newman, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Newman gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his 3 1/3 innings of work.
