Three first-inning runs helped the New Brunswick (2-0) to a 6-4 win over the Prince Edward Island (1-1) at BBoys Vaughan Grove three on Thursday.

The New Brunswick scored in the first on a two-run home run by Adam Estey and a fielder's choice.

Estey racked up three RBIs on two hits for the New Brunswick.

Conner Huckins had an impressive outing against the Prince Edward Island's lineup. Huckins held the Prince Edward Island hitless over 3 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.

Chandler Laporte (0-1) took the loss for the Prince Edward Island. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked four, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
