Brandon Rhodes hopes every outing could go as well as Thursday, as Rhodes threw six scoreless innings to carry the Palm Beach Xtreme (2-5) to an 8-1 victory over the Pompano Beach Clippers (2-3) at Spanish River High School.
Six runs in the opening three innings allowed the Palm Beach Xtreme to easily put away the Pompano Beach Clippers. A two-run double by Damian Boyum, an RBI single by Alex Roberts, and an RBI single by Austin Langham in the second inning fueled the Palm Beach Xtreme's offense early.
Alex Urrutia had a hot bat for the Palm Beach Xtreme. Urrutia went 3-4 and scored two runs. He singled in the second, third, and seventh innings.
Zachary Westcott couldn't get it done on the mound for the Pompano Beach Clippers, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in three innings, walked two and struck out five.
