T J Diffenderfer went 2-2 as the Chillicothe Paints (33-16) took home a 3-2 victory over the Champion City Kings (19-31) in seven innings at Davidson Stadium on Saturday.
He singled in the third and sixth innings.The Champion City Kings couldn't get anything going so long as Trace Dempsey was on the hill. Dempsey held the Champion City Kings hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.
Despite the loss, the Champion City Kings' Alex Dandridge dominated the Chillicothe Paints' batters, giving up three runs and striking out five.
Lance Elder improved to 4-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Chillicothe Paints. He allowed two runs over 5 2/3 innings. Elder struck out one, walked two and gave up four hits.
Dandridge was charged with his second loss of the year.
