Kyle Lawrence came off the bench and never even had to swing his bat as Lawrence reached on a error in the two to lead the Alberta (1-0) to a 10-2 win over the Saskatchewan (0-1) on Thursday at Stronach Stadium.

With the Alberta leading by two, reached on an error.

The Alberta blew out the Saskatchewan thanks to nine hits, including zero extra base hits. The Alberta scored four runs in the seventh on the Alberta scored in the seventh on an error, an error, a groundout by Logan McKinley, an RBI single by Jared Gilbeau, and an RBI single by Liam Froment.

Michael Brisson racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Alberta. He singled in the sixth and seventh innings.

The Saskatchewan couldn't get anything going so long as Froment was on the hill. The Saskatchewan managed just two hits off of the the Alberta's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out four during his four innings of work.

Gilbeau improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Alberta. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered one hit.

James Hom (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 4 2/3 innings, walked three, struck out five, and allowed four runs.
