Bignall stars as the Ontario 2 defeat the Newfoundland, 14-2

Story by Narrative Science.

Friday was a great day for Sean Bignall, as he hit two home runs to carry the Ontario two (1-1) to a 14-2 victory over the Newfoundland (0-3) at Field two in five innings.

Bignall racked up seven RBIs on two hits for the Ontario two. He homered in the first and third innings.

Eleven runs in the first three innings helped the Ontario two blow out the Newfoundland. A three-run home run by Bignall, an error, and a sacrifice fly by Eddie Largy during the first inning and a solo home run by Jamie Smith in the second inning helped the Ontario two put some runs on the board early.

James Byrnes recorded his first win of the year for the Ontario two. He allowed two runs over 4 2/3 innings. He struck out three, walked three and surrendered five hits.

AJ Whiffen ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed 12 runs in four innings, walked four and struck out none.
