An impressive effort by Nick Kiel spurred the Bellevue (25-20) to a 5-0 win over the Douglas (17-17) on Saturday at Triton Field .
Kiel struck out 11, paving the way for a the Bellevue win. The Bellevue's pitcher tossed eight innings of shutout ball and allowed only six hits.
Joakim Soderqvist was solid at the plate for the Bellevue. Soderqvist went 3-4 and scored one run. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the second and sixth innings.
Jamie Whitehead (1-2) took the loss for the Douglas. He lasted just 5 2/3 innings, walked five, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
