Sunday was a great day for Shawn Powers, as Powers tossed a shutout to carry the Treasure Valley (34-10) to a 6-0 victory over the Columbia Basin (28-15) at Elks Memorial .
Powers held the Columbia Basin scoreless during his nine innings of work. He pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on six hits while ringing up six.
The Treasure Valley blew out the Columbia Basin thanks to nine hits, including zero extra base hits. The Treasure Valley scored three runs in the first on a two-run single by Spencer Pollock and an RBI single by Chase Hernandez.
Matthew Jensen (2-4) took the loss for the Columbia Basin. He allowed six runs in five innings, walked four and struck out two.
The Treasure Valley were sparked by Brady Baker and Hernandez, who teamed up for five hits and six RBIs.
