Hotaling's effort not enough in the Chemeketa's 4-2 loss

Story by Narrative Science.

Not even a strong hitting and pitching performance from Jessica Hotaling could carry the Chemeketa (26-20) past the Douglas at Delta Park on Saturday as the Chemeketa suffered a 4-2 defeat.

Hotaling had a hot bat for the Chemeketa. Hotaling went 3-4 and scored one run. He singled in the third, fifth, and seventh innings.

Hotaling pitched seven innings and allowed three earned runs, six hits and no walks while striking out two.

The Douglas (27-7) were led by Hillary Strelau's hitting. Strelau went 3-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the fourth and sixth innings and tripled in the seventh inning.

Tori Belton recorded his eighteenth win of the year for the Douglas. He allowed two runs over seven innings. Belton struck out four, walked one and gave up 10 hits.
