An excellent effort by Kenton Brunson hoisted the Columbia Basin (27-14) to an 18-7 win over the Walla Walla (27-14) on Saturday at Elks Memorial .
Brunson blasted two home runs for the Columbia Basin. Brunson went 2-4 in the game with five RBIs and two runs scored. Brunson homered in the first and third innings.
The Columbia Basin blew out the Walla Walla thanks to 13 hits, including zero extra base hits. The Columbia Basin scored five runs in the ninth on an RBI single by Jordan Feeney, an RBI double by Dalton Johnson, an error, and a two-run home run by Travis Key.
Steven Danek brought the heat against the Walla Walla during his outing. Danek held the Walla Walla hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.
JJ Robinson racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Walla Walla. He doubled in the first innings and singled in the sixth inning.
Stetson Plew got his third win for the Columbia Basin despite allowing seven runs over six innings. He struck out one, walked one and surrendered 12 hits.
AJ Carkner (5-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
