LaMotte's big day not enough as the Pierce fall to the Olympic, 17-11

Story by Narrative Science.

Molly LaMotte hit two home runs, but it wasn't enough to carry the Pierce (24-19) to a win on Friday, as the Pierce fell to the Olympic (19-21) 17-11 in seven innings.

The two teams combined for 28 runs and 36 hits, including zero extra base hits. There were six pitchers used in the game as the two managers searched for any way to finish it off.

The Olympic's bats came to life in the first inning. In the inning the Olympic scored 11 runs.

Even though Erika Henderson allowed five runs over one inning he still recorded the victory, his eighth of the season. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered six hits.

Maddy Smith ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fourth loss of the year. He allowed eight runs in two-thirds of an inning, walked three and struck out none.

The Olympic pounded the Pierce pitching, as six hitters combined for 15 hits, 11 RBIs and 14 runs scored.
