Ryan Atkinson went 1-4 and hit a home run as the Columbia Basin (26-14) took home a 5-2 victory over the Yakima Valley (25-19) at Elks Memorial on Friday.

The Columbia Basin relied on Jacob Gleichman to eat up innings en route to the win. Gleichman allowed one earned run, nine hits and no walks while striking out four over nine innings of work.

Landon Messmore ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fourth loss of the year. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
