The Tacoma (37-6) blew out the Lower Columbia (30-15) 8-2 on Saturday at Minnitti Field after pouring on six runs in the eighth inning.
Derik Bontempo had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the fourth inning and homered in the eighth inning.
Joey Gamache picked up the win for the Tacoma. Gamache pitched nine innings and allowed two earned runs, seven hits and four walks while striking out four.
Despite the loss, the Lower Columbia's Hunter Wells dominated the Tacoma's batters, giving up two runs and striking out 10.
Jacob Cogar was charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed six runs in 1 1/3 innings, walked none and struck out one.
The Tacoma were sparked by Bontempo and Joel Moore, who teamed up for seven hits and three RBIs.
