The Manitoba (2-2) blew out the New Brunswick (2-2) 10-3 on Friday at Leakos Field after pouring on eight runs in the fifth inning.
The Manitoba scored in the fifth on a sacrifice fly by Christian Peters, an RBI single by Marshal Burgess, an RBI single by Mitchell Lyall, , a wild pitch, , , a hit by pitch, and an RBI single by Wyatt Kemball.
The New Brunswick jumped out to an early lead, but they were unable to hang on. The New Brunswick led until the fifth inning, but the Manitoba took the lead back on an RBI single by Lyall.
Burgess paced the Manitoba at the plate. Burgess went 3-4, drove in one and scored two runs.
Branden Hatley kept contact to a minimum, striking out seven the New Brunswick batters. Hatley allowed three earned runs on four hits and three walks over six innings.
Dominic Tardif couldn't get it done on the rubber for the New Brunswick, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in four innings, walked two and struck out three.
