Portolese helps the Quebec down the Alberta 5-3

Luca Portolese went 2-3 as the Quebec (2-1) took home a 5-3 victory over the Alberta (1-2) in eight innings at Leakos Field on Thursday.

He singled in the third and fourth innings.

The Alberta's lineup had no answer for Hugo Brochu. The Alberta managed just one hit off of Brochu, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out one during his 3 1/3 innings of work.

Justin King was solid at the plate for the Alberta. King went 2-2. He singled in the first inning and tripled in the fourth inning.

Jordan Parranto had an impressive outing against the Quebec's lineup. The Quebec managed just one hit off of the the Alberta's pitcher, who allowed one earned run, walked none and struck out three during his 3 2/3 innings of work.

Peter Hutzal (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
