The Saskatchewan (2-0) pounded the Newfoundland (0-2) on Thursday 11-1 at Cairns Field in five innings.

Resch had a busy day at the plate, collecting three extra-base hits.

Alex Galloway showed a good ability to locate the strike zone, allowing no walks. The Saskatchewan's pitcher pitched five innings, allowing no earned runs and five hits while striking out two.

Matthew Colbourne ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed six runs in 3 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out two.

Resch, Eric Clauson, Gaab and Malainey helped lead the Saskatchewan. They combined for nine hits and four RBIs.
