A walk-off single from Hector Ferrer brought home the winning run for the Chemeketa (20-21) in a 6-5 victory over the Clark (28-12) at Chemeketa Baseball Stadium on Sunday.
Ferrer was solid at the plate for the Chemeketa. Ferrer went 1-4 and drove in one. He singled in the ninth inning.
Brenden Shaffer racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Chemeketa. He tripled in the third inning and singled in the seventh and ninth innings.
Michael Gonzales was hot from the plate for the Clark. Gonzales went 2-5, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the ninth inning.
Cody Allison improved to 3-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Chemeketa. He allowed three runs over four innings. Allison struck out two, walked two and gave up five hits.
Layne Sutten (1-1) took the loss for the Clark. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed no runs.
