Second-inning rally sparks blowout win for the Douglas, 18-1

The Douglas (22-4) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Edmonds, recording an 18-1 victory on Saturday at Softball City .

Thirteen runs in the first three innings allowed the Douglas to put the game away early.

An error and an RBI single by Kelsey Hari in the first inning and an RBI single by Hillary Strelau, a three-run home run by Sydney Brown, a two-run single by Taylor Miller, a two-run single by Veronica Boyd, a hit by pitch, a two-run triple by Strelau, and an error during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Douglas.

Strelau racked up four RBIs on four hits for the Douglas.

Morganne Blattmann brought the heat against the Edmonds (8-14) during his outing. The Edmonds managed just one hit off of the the Douglas' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out two during his five innings of work.
