The Pierce (19-16) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Highline (12-18), recording an 8-1 victory on Saturday at Curtis HS.
Six runs in the first three innings allowed the Pierce to put the game away early.
A solo home run by Tricia Bonifacio, a hit by pitch, a hit by pitch, and a groundout by Courtney Cox during the first inning and an RBI single by Katie Soran in the second inning helped the Pierce put some runs on the board early.Soran racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Pierce.
Karlee Rose Perry picked up the win for the Pierce. Rose Perry allowed one earned run, six hits and two walks while striking out five over seven innings of work.
Kayla Andrus (7-9) took the loss for the Highline. He allowed eight runs in six innings, walked one and struck out three.
