The Highline (10-16) shut the door early on the Green River (6-14), capturing a 7-1 victory on Monday.

Six runs in the first three innings allowed the Highline to put the game away early.

A fielder's choice, a three-run double by Kayla Andrus, a three-run double by Andrus, an RBI single by Courtney Lightner, and a two-run home run by Paige Hughes in the first inning supplied the early offense for the Highline.

The Highline came out swinging, scoring six runs in the first inning to jump ahead of the Green River early.

The Highline relied on Emma Seymer to eat up innings en route to the win. Seymer pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, eight hits and one walk while striking out two.

Rachel Barcena ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his eleventh loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in six innings, walked one and struck out one.

The Highline were sparked by Hughes and Andrus, who teamed up for three hits and five RBIs.
