A seven-run explosion in the third inning spurred the Everett (11-13) to an 11-1 win in five innings over the Skagit Valley (8-19) at Everett Boys _ Girls Club on Tuesday.
Minna Ward racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Everett. He homered in the third inning and doubled in the fourth inning.
Sydney Dixon pitched lights out for the Everett. The Skagit Valley managed just two hits off of Dixon, who allowed one earned run, walked one and struck out three during his five innings of work.
Brie Lopez ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his seventh loss of the year. He allowed 11 runs in four innings, walked one and struck out four.
