The Spokane (20-10) and the Chemeketa (16-12) both threatened with rallies, but it was the Spokane that eventually took advantage of them in a 6-5 win at Mt Vernon HS.
Shayde Urhausen racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Spokane. He singled in the first and sixth innings.
Janie Carr was hot from the plate for the Chemeketa. Carr went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the first and seventh innings.
Kelly Taylor recorded his fourth win for the Spokane even though he allowed five runs over seven innings. He struck out three, walked one and surrendered eight hits.
Jessica Hotaling (8-5) took the loss for the Chemeketa. He allowed six runs in six innings, walked three and struck out five.
