Highline vs Clark: 13-4

The Highline jump on the Clark early and coast to 13-4 win

The Highline (6-14) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Clark (6-15), recording a 13-4 victory on Sunday at Skagit Valley.

Nine runs in the first three innings allowed the Highline to put the game away early.

An RBI single by Courtney Lightner, an RBI single by Paige Hughes, an RBI single by Kylie Goodwin, a three-run single by Sydney Rothenberger, and a single by Hayley Craddock during the first inning and an RBI double by Hughes in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Highline.

Hughes racked up four RBIs on four hits for the Highline.

Paige Amery went a perfect 3-3 at the plate for the Clark. He singled in the second, fourth, and fifth innings.

Kayla Andrus improved to 3-6 on the year by picking up the win for the Highline. He allowed four runs over five innings. Andrus struck out four, walked none and gave up 13 hits.

Bryce Baucum ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his seventh loss of the year. He allowed 13 runs in five innings, walked five and struck out one.
