A magnificent effort by Matt Trimble carried the Douglas (5-9) to a 9-1 win in eight innings over the Everett (8-10) on Sunday at Skagit.
The Everett's lineup had no answer for Trimble. The Everett managed just two hits off of Trimble, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out seven during his seven innings of work.
The biggest inning for the Douglas was the sixth. The Everett had no answer as the Douglas scored seven runs.
Tyler Yorko went a perfect 4-4 at the plate for the Douglas. He singled in the first, third, sixth, and seventh innings.
Alex Koeplin (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in five innings, walked two and struck out one.
