Gardella helps the Pittsfield Suns down the Worcester Bravehearts 6-4

Derek Gardella went 2-4, helping the Pittsfield Suns (20-14) to a 6-4 victory over the Worcester Bravehearts (20-13) on Wednesday at Wahconah Park.

He doubled in the third inning and singled in the fifth inning.

Justin Finan struck out five, paving the way for a the Pittsfield Suns win. Finan allowed no earned runs on five hits and two walks over five innings.

Despite the loss, the Worcester Bravehearts' Tyrone Miller dominated the Pittsfield Suns' batters, giving up zero runs and striking out five.

Nate Pajka put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Worcester Bravehearts. He tripled in the sixth inning and doubled in the seventh inning.

Andrew Bergmann ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
