The Douglas jump on the Skagit Valley early and coast to 10-0 win

The Douglas (6-1) jumped out to an early lead on the Skagit Valley (5-11) and captured a 10-0 victory on Tuesday at Softball City .

Six runs in the first three innings allowed the Douglas to put the game away early.

An RBI single by Allison Wiens, a single by Ashley Jongejan, and an error in the first inning and a single by Jongejan and an RBI single by Jenny Mckellar during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Douglas.

The Douglas were led by a flawless day at the dish by Jongejan, who went 3-3 against the Skagit Valley's pitching.

Tori Belton held the Skagit Valley scoreless during his five innings of work. He pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on four hits while ringing up eight.

Brie Lopez ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fifth loss of the year. He allowed 10 runs in four innings, walked two and struck out one.
