Alexis Salcedo went 2-3, sparking the Columbia Basin (6-8) to a 3-2 victory in seven innings over the Yakima Valley (6-6) on Saturday.
He singled in the second inning and doubled in the seventh inning.Janelle Randles put together a nice outing. Randles held the Yakima Valley hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.
Kayla Reynolds was effective even in defeat, mowing down nine the Columbia Basin batters and allowing three runs.
Reynolds (4-3) was the game's losing pitcher.
