The Columbia Basin (7-8) took down the Yakima Valley 9-2 on Saturday after slamming the Yakima Valley (6-7) with five runs in the fourth inning.
The Yakima Valley had the lead early, but couldn't hold off the Columbia Basin. The Yakima Valley were up until the fourth inning, but the Columbia Basin had other plans for the final outcome, taking the lead back on a two-run triple by Bailey Walthers.
Hannah Sams had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He homered in the third inning and doubled in the fourth inning.
Janelle Randles kept contact to a minimum, striking out seven the Yakima Valley batters. Randles allowed two earned runs on seven hits and three walks over seven innings.
April Shipley was charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed nine runs in six innings, walked five and struck out five.
The Columbia Basin's Sams, Courtney Swan, Walthers and Randles combined for nine hits and seven RBIs.
