A magnificent effort by Ryan Hendrix led the Matsu Miners (23-12) to a 12-1 win over the Chugiak Chinooks (11-23) on Monday at Loretta French Field.

Hendrix kept the Chugiak Chinooks off the board during his seven innings of work. Hendrix allowed four hits, no walks and struck out seven.

Five runs in the first three innings helped the Matsu Miners blow out the Chugiak Chinooks. A groundout by Terence Connelly, a groundout by Brandon Smith, an RBI single by Jordan Rodgers, an error, a two-run single by Cameron Newell, and a double by Matt Decker in the second inning fueled the Matsu Miners' offense early.

Connelly racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Matsu Miners.

Daniel Przeniczny (1-5) took the loss for the Chugiak Chinooks. He allowed nine runs in four innings, walked two and struck out two.
