Hunter Villanueva went 2-3, helping the Alaska Goldpanners (12-5) to a 5-4 victory over the Anchorage Bucs (16-7) on Monday at Growden Memorial Park.
He singled in the second and seventh innings.Tylor McGill put together a nice outing. The Anchorage Bucs managed just one hit off of McGill, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his two innings of work.
Despite the loss, the Anchorage Bucs' Evan Manarino dominated the Alaska Goldpanners' batters, giving up two runs and striking out five.
Peter Lenstrohm ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked two, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
