The Matsu Miners (12-4) continued to pile up the runs on Saturday, scoring three runs in the last three innings, en route to an easy 14-3 win over the Chugiak Chinooks (4-13) at Loretta French Field.
A home run by Cameron Newell helped the Matsu Miners score four runs in the sixth. The Matsu Miners had one hit in the inning.
Newell racked up six RBIs on three hits for the Matsu Miners.
William Arendt racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Chugiak Chinooks. He singled in the fourth inning and doubled in the seventh inning.
Jon Ferrendelli improved to 3-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Matsu Miners. He allowed three runs over 6 2/3 innings. He struck out two, walked two and surrendered six hits.
Thomas Altimont (0-1) took the loss for the Chugiak Chinooks. He allowed seven runs in five innings, walked none and struck out three.
