The Peninsula Oilers (10-1) and the Anchorage Bucs (11-4) each put runners in scoring position on Monday, but the Peninsula Oilers capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 5-2 win at Mulcahy Field.
It was a good day at the plate for the Anchorage Bucs' Andy Crowley. Crowley went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the third inning and doubled in the fifth inning.
Dallas DeVrieze improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Peninsula Oilers. He allowed two runs over six innings. He struck out five, walked two and surrendered seven hits.
Kyle Davis (0-1) took the loss for the Anchorage Bucs. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
